On June 15, 2014, a historic building at Kodály körönd in District VI of Budapest caught fire, sending billows of smoke over Andrássy Avenue. The roof structure was destroyed in about half an hour, but luckily the firefighters managed to quench the flames before they could spread. The building was declared to be uninhabitable because of the damage, so its 30 residents can return to their homes only after major repairs. There was no official information about the origin of the fire.
