Széchenyi Chain Bridge
8.800 Ft
Built between 1840-1849
The oldest and best-known bridge on the Danube, which provides a permanent connection between Buda and Pest. The construction of the suspension bridge was initiated by Count István Széchenyi, its design was entrusted to the English W.T. Clark, and the construction was directed by Adam Clark of Scottish descent.
We can only talk about the bridge in superlatives: our hearts throb big every time we see or cross it. We have to give up crossing it for a while now, because due to the reconstruction works of the bridge, the road, pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be restricted from June 16 2021 until the completion of the works.
If you can’t do without the Chain Bridge either, get this special poster!
